L'Assommoir-The Wedding Walk

One of the major scenes in L'Assommoir is the walk taken by Coupeau and Gervaise after their wedding. The route can be fairly accuarately traced, and the following pictures show what can be seen along the route today-or in 2007 when the majority of these photos were taken.

The photos below end at La Colonne in the place Vendome. In the book the walk continues North out of the square and along the main boulevards back to the Rue de la Goutte d'Or. The total walk is between 6 and 7 miles.
